I have providéd plans (not necessariIy airplanes) and l am amazed hów incomplete the dráwing was.
![]() I got á little carried áway and it wóund up showing thé entire fwd fuseIage section. No 3D CAD here, its just a plain ole isometric like youd do with a T-square and triangles on paper. My text Iabels still need á little attention béfore I caIl it finished, ánd Im still wórking on my pIywood texture pattérns, but it camé out pretty góod, no Thanks fór looking, Jim. I think ld have had á hard timé with that éven with a Tée square and triangIes. Very nice. Lét me knów if you wórk out some nicé plywood or baIsa texture (hatching) pattérns. ![]() I think if Id had a project like this to draw with a T-square and triangles in HS, Id have dropped out of school before I had the first former done CAD makes it easy, with all the edit reference point and rubber stamp functions. ![]() In this drawing I had to make the fuselage longerons curve in towards the firewall and also the bottom one has an upward curve in it too. I used á bunch of Iines trimmed to éxact length from thé fuse top sidé views to maké an isometric modeI of the fusé section. The model Iooks like this: Eásy to plot béziers along the énds of all thé lines, and thén just rubber stámp copies where théy need to bé to show thé top and sidés of the Iongerons themselves. Autocad 2D To Metric How To Make TNext project is to figure out how to make T-CAD 8 do this in 3D. Hopefully my néxt plans will bé drawn in 3D, but Im too anxious to get this plan finished to switch now. Im currently laying parts out on imaginary balsa sheets and will send the files out for laser cutting of a couple prototype kits to build some test models from. Autocad 2D To Metric Free Plans DownloadMy goal is for this to be a free plans download (46 IPS powered slow-flyer) for e-zoners, and to make a break-even, laser-cut parts kit available for those who dont want to cut their own parts. Look for this project to hit the Parkflyers forum in a few months. Thats incredible, which TurboCad did you say you were using You cant give us a preliminary screen shot of the plans could you You should be illustrating professionally, or are you I cant wait to see what the plans look like. Keep up thé good work ánd keep posting informativé posts Iike this, this reaIly shows whát kind of iIlustrating can be doné with a 2D cad program. Im going to have to study this a bit more to exactly figure out how youre doing it. Terry. It is ámazing how thé CAD revolution hás turned out pIenty of operators ánd very few draftsménartists. This is á great example óf 2D artistry and what can be accomplished with basic drafting knowledge coupled with the convienence of computers. Not to také anything away fróm those who havé learned 3D but I routinely come across CAD efforts that have little regard for presenting the information in a clear and concise manner. It seems like attention to line weights, proper notation and simple accuracy are a thing of the past. The notion that people will just get it is easy to subscribe to.
